#AF19 Free Opening Night: NKISI + Colin Self & Echo Collective + Partners
Free opening night on the edge of electronic music, performance and activism.
“To be able to walk as a human being in the world, you have to be able to walk in seven directions. I took the seven directions and kind of translated them into seven rhythms” - NKISI
Artefact Sounds opens with three acts on the edge of club culture, performance and activism. In their energetic live shows, they question globalisation and propose new was for people to relate with each other and the earth. Top of the bill is British-Belgian (Leuven-born!) producer NKISI, co-founder of the online afro collective NON Worldwide. NKISI presents her debut album 7 Directions. Berlin-based vocalist, choreographer and gender activist Colin Self presents the Belgian premiere of his sci-fi operette Siblings, and is joined live by the renowned Echo Collective. Opening act of the night is Partners, aka Belgian underground’s Bonnie & Clyde. More good news? It won’t cost you a cent!
