Hans Geyens

“I’ve always seen the city as my playground. Playing in it, playing on it, playing with it, playing around it – answering to all of its invitations.”
- Hans Geyens

For Alone Together, Hans Geyens made an installation from sewer pipes called (U)(N)(I)(T)(Y). With different types of connecting elements, he forms five words: You And I Tea Why.
During Artefact you can find the installation on the side of house no. 39 in the Frederik Lintsstraat.

Hans Geyens is fascinated by the mechanism of communication and their effects. Starting from painting, he is always looking for the ideal way to shape his project or idea. He follows the well-known pronunciation of John Baldessari and tries to apply it to his work: “I will not make anymore boring art.” Geyens studied painting at Sint-Lukas in Brussels. He lives and works in Leuven.
