Shackleton (live) + Kangding Ray (live) + Grey Branches (live)

The ‘abstract bass music’ of Raster Noton’s  Kangding Ray reflects his wide musical background. Born in France and living in Berlin, David Letellier mixes atmospheric soundscapes and beats into slow-building compositions. Combining an industrial sound with live instruments, distortion and field recordings, he creates a world where experiment and club culture fit together perfectly. 

With his idiosyncratic dubstep and complex beats, UK’s Sam Shackleton is one of the most original and inspirational musicians in today’s electronic scene. Armed with hypnotic melodies, rugged bass lines and lurking percussion, he creates a complex, eclectic and mesmerizing sound. 

And last but not least, we present the first live show of Grey Branches, the new project of Belgian sound designer Yves De Mey - who returns to STUK after last year’s set (as Yves De Mey) on the final day of Artefact. On the EP Lower Bounds, Grey Branches balances between experimental techno, noise and ambient, while the sum of its parts creates a wonderful trip for lovers of adventurous electronica. 

Starting as promoters of club events around Slovakia, Daniel and Marián decided to take the DJ/producer path under The Rabbeats pseudonym, representing a fresh mix of minimal, techno and hip-hop influence. Their sets, accompanied by live looping and being heard at the Beatpatrol Festival and the major clubs over the Central Europe, all share the same common feature that it was an energetic experience. Their recent work includes a live stream for the RWD.FM radio, a mixtape for the Deep.FM radio, remixes of Emika's "3 Hours", Brodiski's "Nobody Rules The Streets" and ongoing work on their own tracks.
