This installation restages, in miniature, the artists' second date at a screening of Jean Luc Godard's Weekend. Live cameras, cut together by a computer controlled switcher, intercut scenes from the recreated film with reaction shots of the recreated artists. These shots of miniatures are then projected onto a screen to form a short, meta-movie. The piece encompasses both the lives of the artists and the life of the film they watch. Our Second Date reduces the entire cinematic production, post-production, and viewing experience into one abbreviated whole. The original scene in Weekend, of a seemingly interminable traffic jam tracking shot, is in the McCoys work made actually interminable, mounted as it is in a circular turning, diorama. Cut together with this shot can be seen images of the artists' avatars locked in similarly endless reaction shots.
