The ultra hip Tri Angle label
gathers artists who excel in ‘witch house’: slow electro pop with distorted
vocals and sounds, topped with elements from shoegaze and drone. This leads
to very different results: some stay downtempo, others incorporate elements
from R&B and hip hop. This evening will give you a nice sample of what
the label and genre stand for.
Order of Noise is the acclaimed debut album of Bristol’s electronica producer Vessel (Seb Gainsborough). Roaming around the edges of techno, he ended up in the industrial sounds. The Haxan Cloak (Bobby Krlic for his London friends) brings pure black magic for fans of Scorn and Demdike Stare (who performed at Artefact 2012). A third Englishman is Joshua Leary. As Evian Christ he chooses downtempo beats: a dark twist on J Dilla-style hip hop.
