Artefact 2020: Alone Together focuses on solitude, loneliness and connection in contemporary society. An extensive exhibition in STUK and the city of Leuven, an energetic concert programme, recent film gems and in-depth lectures invite you to discover how artists relate to these themes.

Artefact is an exhibition and festival on the crossroads of contemporary visual arts, current events and societal challenges. Artefact presents contemporary art practices that engage with complex topics and urgent themes that unite or divide us, in a poetic, critical and experiential way.

Artefact 2020: Alone Together focuses on solitude, loneliness and connection in contemporary society. The exhibition with existing and new work of 23 artists and collectives sheds a light on this sometimes difficult subject matter. The Concert & Sound programme explores the connecting power of music, reflecting on the state of loneliness and the inability to communicate. The lectures, workshops and films give you a chance to dive deeper into the theme.
