In Tracking Revisited, the mechanical and clicking sounds of slide projectors interact with the images they project. Sound tracking light. Light tracking sound. The light brings images situated between abstraction and recognition.

In Ludo Engels’ subtle and intriguing sound installations, external factors play an important role, such as the presentation space and it’s light or shadow. His work is conceptual in the sense that he tries to undermine our common way of perception.

Ludo Engels studied photography and film. During the early 80’s he was mainly busy experimenting in improvised music. He stayed loyal to a strongly intuitive way of working, but tended more and more towards the visual arts. Over
the past years he also worked as a technician on several projects of many visual artists.
